Scientists have established the existence of a new type of interaction of neutrinos

Using liquid argon, the CENNS-10 Detector has directly measured a theoritical neutrino interaction. The theorized process, CEvNS, states that a light neutrino particle will bounce or skitter off a nucleus in a coherent way. The CENNS-10 is a small, 22kg liquid argon detector. Superconducting maglev train unveiled in China

The prototype uses high-temperature superconductors and require liquid nitrogen instead of helium. Chinese officials and press watched the demonstration on test track at Southwest Jiaotong University. The train body is made of light-weight carbon fiber and designed with a sleek, aerodynamic shape. QUANTUM COMPUTING BREAKTHROUGH USES CRYOGENICS TO SCALE MACHINES TO ‘THOUSANDS OF TIMES’ THEIR CURRENT SIZE

A new “Gooseberry” quantum computer chip, which operates at close to absolute zero, can support machines operating thousands of qubits. Quantum computers operating today use around 50 qubits, so the Gooseberry chip makes it possible to build vastly more powerful computers. Qubits need to be stored at very cold temperatures, passing control signals from chips at ambient temperature to a quantum chip in cryogenic storage has limited the potential of quantum computers. Gooseberry moves the control chips inside the cryogenic environment to get around the bottleneck. Read more via The Independent
